We are seeking a friendly and professional Front of House Server to join our team. We will be offering great British classics as well as the perfectly poured pint of local ale. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest service, taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment is preferred, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are equally valued. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a dynamic setting, providing memorable experiences for our guests.

The role will be for Friday evenings, Saturday lunch & dinner, Sunday lunch, with the view of more hours during the holiday seasons.

Responsibilities:

• Offer guests a fantastic experience from start to finish.

• Take accurate food and beverage orders.

• Serve meals and drinks effectively.

• Ensure guests satisfaction during their visit.

• Handle payments.

• Maintain cleanliness and organisation.

• Upsell menu items and promote specials.

• Follow food safety regulations.

• Assist with basic food preparations where necessary.

• Collaborate with team members during service, ensuring a calm and positive work environment.

Skills:

• Prior experience in hospitality is desirable. However training is available for candidates with the right attitude.

• Friendly & approachable demeanour.

• Ability to multitask.

• Basic math and english.

• Ability to work under pressure.

• Kitchen Porter:

  This role is perfect for someone who is looking to get their foot in the door of a kitchen. Not only will they learn from experienced chef’s but they will be able to have hands on experience working during busy services. Not only will you gain experience during service, but you will have time to learn about prep work and what it takes for a kitchen to be up and running.

  Pay based on experience.

• Seasonal Front of House:

  The Jolly Sailor is known is be busy during the peak of summer. This seasonal front of house serve role will suit students looking to earn some extra money during their time off education whether they are returning home or staying at their accommodation during their breaks. These will be flexible hours with some short notice shifts.

  These may also be Bar shifts available, so experience behind a bar would be ideal but no necessary.
